Gabriella Budapest Copper Wire Earrings

Some pieces immediately make their presence known as soon as you put them on. I designed these hoop earrings for women who have stopped justifying their space - each one is cut from a copper sheet, hand-shaped into a wide crescent form, and then worked with a hammer across the entire surface, strike by strike, until the metal retains the imprint of each blow.

Women have worn copper close to their skin for millennia to feel connected to their bodies, and those who return to me always say the same thing: they have stopped noticing what they previously perceived.

These earrings are among the last I will make before I permanently close my workshop. I hope they find ears that are ready to be seen.
