Gabriella Budapest Copper Anklet

This is the piece I spend the most time on - each braid is handwoven over and under, with the tension evenly maintained throughout the entire circumference to keep the pattern true. I’ve made it for those whose ankles and legs have borne the test of time for decades without complaint, and whose circulation needs to keep pace with lives that do not slow down.

There is something about its weight on the ankle - substantial, present - that people either notice immediately or come back to tell me about later. Those who wear copper regularly say the same: they have stopped perceiving what they once did.

This is one of the last anklets I will make before I permanently close my workshop. I hope it finds an ankle that deserves it.
