Copper Earrings Gabriella Budapest Creek

Some pieces reward those who observe attentively. I created this for women who appreciate the inner, quiet work of things - the teardrop shape that I first shaped from a piece of copper wire, then wrapped around the lower part of the wire, one turn after another, each coil placed tightly next to the previous one, until the whole piece is covered, and the piece becomes what it was always meant to be.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for millennia by those who needed something stable and continuous in their lives, and who return to me, always saying the same thing: they simply feel that this is the right way, which they have long stopped explaining.

These are among the last earrings I will make before I permanently close my workshop. I hope they find ears that notice the details.
